Baxter State Park, Maine Information |
Baxter State Park is a huge wilderness area in North-central Maine that covers more than 200,000 acres of land. The park is home to Maine's largest mountain, Mount Katahdin, which consists of several peaks including Mount Katahdin, Baxter Peak and Mount Katahdin, Hamlin Peak. The park is NOT part of the state of Maine's state park system.
Wildlife in Baxter State Park includes moose, black bear and white-tailed deer. These animals are most commonly seen in the Summer months.
