Franconia Range, New Hampshire Information |
The Franconia Range is the second highest range of peaks in the White Mountains (after the Presidential Range). It includes 5 4,000 footer mountains, other mountains and the Franconia Ridge, which is a prominent ridge connecting all of the Franconia Range's summits.
Hiking in the Franconia Range is very rewarding with excellent above-treeline views and waterfalls. The Franconia Ridge Loop is an 8.9 mile hike that includes over 3,900 feet of elevation gain, and covers the majority of above-treeline mountains in the range. Some of the trails included on this hike are the Franconia Ridge Trail, The Greenleaf Trail and Old Bridle Path.
