Presidential Range, New Hampshire Information |
The Presidential Range is a 19 mile range located in mostly in Coos County, New Hampshire. It includes 13 mountains, 9 of which are considered 4,000 footers. Many of the mountains have subsidiary peaks which are listed below. The tallest mountain in the range is Mount Washington, standing at 6,288 feet, named after the first president. The second tallest mountain is Mount Adams, and is named after the second president, and so on.
One challenge hikers like to accomplish is hiking the entire 19 mile stretch of the Presidentials in one day (2-4 days in the Winter). Doing so will cover roughly 8,500 feet in elevation gain.
